Christopher Gavigan, Chief Purpose Officer, The Honest Company
Christopher Gavigan has devoted his life to helping families nurture the healthiest, happiest babies and children. As the Founder and Chief Purpose Officer of The Honest Company (Honest.com), Gavigan is focused on building a value-based business that has a big social, ecological, and philanthropic impact. The Honest Company is on a mission to give today's parents the access to "better" products that are safer, more effective & natural, and fairly priced, without toxic and risky ingredients - promoting educational awareness and healthier, happier children.
"Parents get a lot of advice about what to feed their children and how to baby-proof their home," he says, "but many are still completely unaware of the toxic risks posed by everyday basics found in many products, like diapers, home cleaners, body washes, and laundry soaps. Yet, there's growing scientific and medical consensus that some chemicals used in these products are linked to chronic diseases like asthma, ADHD, behavioral disorders, and even cancer."
A father of 4 children, Gavigan is the former CEO of Healthy Child Healthy World - a national nonprofit empowering parents to protect their children from toxic risks. He is also is the author of a best-selling book "Healthy Child Healthy World: Creating a Cleaner, Greener, Safer Home", and has been instrumental in catapulting environmental health messages into millions of homes worldwide with collaborative non-profit partnerships and media alliances.
